We believe economics draws on an analytical toolkit that can be applied to a variety of domains. Even within sub-fields, there is often significant debate. This is part of what makes economics, and economic research, so exciting. For this reason, and in the interest of academic freedom, we encourage our highly qualified instructors to teach a variety of schools of thought, rather than standardizing the curriculum in a way which presents economics as a settled or uniform discipline.

Within the liberal arts context of Trinity College, we focus on the learning process rather than learning outcomes, providing our students with the resources to meet their individual needs and engage with their interests. Our aim is to foster critical thinking, articulate communication, and strong analytical and quantitative skills.
